The smoke cloud from the Station Fire as seen from Lincoln Heights.
I watched the fire dance over the mountains last night, every minute it leapt higher and moved at an amazing speed. When I woke up it felt as if there was a BBQ grill going inside my house. So is this what it feels like to smoke two packs a cigarettes a day? I can barely breathe. How about you all? How have you been coping with the smoke and heat?
Amazing photo taken from Highland Park can be seen here.
You are so right, that smoke is bothering me alot, shortness of breath, and a little cough here and there!! I’ve had asthma my whole life, and this is terrible. It’s smells like they just lit the bbq but didn’t put any meat on it, all you smell is smoke!!
I don’t think the air is quite as bad as it was last Wednesday/Thursday. But it’s still horrible. Wednesday/Thursday I couldn’t breathe at all. It was suffocating! It was even coming through the vents at work. Today, not so bad. I think it helps that there are no winds or gusts. Si no, ashes would be everywhere and make things so much worse.
Dark skies rize from Mordor. Sauron’s fury will soon be upon us. We must prepare for battle. Sorry, looking at the fires at night remind me of some book/movie trilogy of somethin’.
Give… Ussssss… The Halflinnnng…….
A pyrocumulus or fire cloud is a dense cumuliform cloud associated with fire or volcanic activity.
A pyrocumulus is similar dynamically in some ways to a firestorm, and the two phenomena may occur in conjunction with each other. However, one may occur without the other.
yep….that’s that cloud over us
