Give those ghoulitos some candy!

These two Westside chicks screwed up and told a Chicano cabdriver they wanted to go to the Eastside and party but they were thinking along the lines of Glendale Blvd and Silverlake. Homeboy, like any OG Chicano, took them across the LA River to the real Eastside, to N. Main and Ave 19 site of the infamous “Club Silencio”- where to their chagrin and terror – they ran into “La Llorona de Los Angeles.” This La Llorona apparition sure is fine though. Nothing like the “White Lady” chillona, covered with green moss and stinking of LA River water that many of us chavalo’s remember. Cuidado you gentrifiers!

Warren Zevon, que scary! “I saw the werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s, his hair was perfect!” Some of the best horror lyrics ever written! But what does Zevon insinuate when he says he says “I saw Lon Chaney and Lon Chaney Jr walking with a queen!” Say what?

Hey Vampira, stay away from that mota!

Happy Halloween! Give those kids the good candy! Chale with the penny Tootsie Rolls. Give ’em the Hershey Kisses and the Reese’s Pieces.

  1. No one comes to my house, because I live by the panteon in BH. There have been sitings of La Llorona in Elysian Park—yes, there on the eastside of the westside….she’s still crying “Ay mis hijos!” and looking for her children who she killed, because she did not want them to live the disenfranchised life of a mestizo.
