When we looked upon the view and were dreaming about building the park, out architect looked over and said, “what a beautiful view, que vista hermosa”. Hence the name. At 10 acres it is largest openspace/park in downtown la. I added park as way to scale down massive Belmont learning complex and get votes to move forward with roybal learning center–and resolve the Belmont complex problem once and for all. When I got to school board, I realiazed what a shame to have the unfinished school in what was one o most overcrowded ares for schools…
Is that the old Belmont tunnel location? That place looks so weird now.
i like the “laeastside.com” on the very corner. damn eastsiders tagging up the park.
I though the cornfields were the largest open space in downtown at 32 acres?
